Stewardship & Accountability

Adventures In Missions (AIM) is an established 501(c) (3) non-profit mission organization. As a ministry, we are in need of financial supporters, including churches and individuals, to enable us to continue the work to which God has called us. Although 95% of our employees raise all or a portion of their own salaries to serve the Lord, we have ongoing material, administrative, and technology expenditures. God always graciously fulfills our needs through the faith and generosity of donors who share AIM's vision of fulfilling the Great Commission.

AIM, in partnership with American Churches and individual donors, directly and indirectly makes an eternal impact in the communities where we serve. Donations to specific AIM ministries or non-designated support of AIM will allow AIM to continue the year-round ministry that advances the Kingdom. Your contribution to AIM will make a difference in the lives of the people on the foreign and domestic mission field and in furthering the Great Commission.

ACCOUNTABILITY for the resources that God has entrusted to Adventures In Missions begins first of all with our awareness that those who share their time, money, and prayers with AIM view us as stewards. We know that God sees and weighs the merits of our every action. The parable of the master and the wise steward applies to each of us. It is therefore our objective to listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all that we do, and particularly in the larger decisions that we make.

Given man's frailty and inherent corruptibility, checks and balances are necessary. We have placed such mechanisms in place to make a statement that AIM staff want to be above reproach in all that they do. We have an annual audit by an independent auditor and we are members in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. Our board of directors meets regularly to review the direction and performance of the ministry.

AIM's expenditures are under girded by a philosophy of STEWARDSHIP based on an emphasis on efficiency. In 2008, we project our revenues to be approximately nine million dollars. Overhead, as a percentage revenue is budgeted at 9%

We want those who invest in our ministry to have total confidence in the STEWARDSHIP of their funds. Not only should they be able to rejoice with us in the fruit our ministry bears, but they should feel good about the way in which we keep expenses low. A few key principles guide our fund-raising process:

  1. We believe that if God raises up a work, He will provide for it. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. We will ask Him to meet our needs and we'll make them known to others, but we'll always look to God rather than man as our provider.
  2. Given that it is the Lord who orchestrates our affairs, we believe it would show a lack of faith on our part to try to manipulate the emotions of our supporters. We are committed to never seek funds by our own strength or in our own way. When we present the needs of our ministry, it will be in a straightforward way.
  3. We strive to be faithful stewards not only of the resources entrusted to us, but also of the information concerning how those resources are being used. Those who financially support our ministry deserve a regular, accurate accounting of how our funds are being spent.
  4. We will never operate the ministry at a deficit; nor will we seek to raise more funds than we need.
  5. We encourage our supporters to give first to their local church. AIM can assist but never supplant the function of the local church. We also encourage our supporters to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all their decisions. James 1:17 tells us that all good gifts come from God; we as believers are reflecting God's generosity when we give. We believe that your stewardship is part of your own spiritual walk and that in giving you honor and obey God, giving back to Him out of a grateful heart for His grace and mercy toward you.
