Our Participants' FeedbackSince 1989, Adventures in Missions has taken over 80,000 people into the mission field. In that time, we have partnered with churches big and small, families and individuals, all with a common goal to bring the light of Christ to the world. Here's what they've said: Participants' Testimonies of Short Term Mission Trips with AIMTestimonies from Youth"I decided I would try ATL ["Ask the Lord", how we refer to being guided by listening prayer] ministry. All I could think of was a red car. We went door-to-door prayer walking, and I forgot about the whole thing. We had a break and then went back to praying. We had already led six people to Christ up to this point. When we were in the street, I remembered the red car and when I looked up, it was there! We went to the house and a boy walked out. To make a long story short, the boy was very attentive and I led him to Christ, but God saved him. People got saved every day, and just to see God work brought tears to my eyes. This has been the best experience. I thought it would be miserable, but I would give anything to go back and to see how God is still working. We wouldn’t have made it through Matamoros [in Mexico] without God. It was all him." - Camille Ralston "I loved the trip to Mexico because God showed up in so many ways. Our whole youth group grew individually and together so much. Overall, 100 people got saved and I know many more will come to know Christ because of what He did through us. Throughout the week I could tell that God blessed me and my youth group so much." - Russell Ralston Testimonies from Young Adults"It has been a wild ride. I will never be the same. My heart has forever been touched, I am being molded and formed, and I cannot go back to who I was before." - Eric Hanson, January 2007 World Race"I began this journey called the World Race as a bright-eyed college graduate with high hopes of impacting the nations for the sake of Jesus. The thing I didn't realize was just how much Jesus was going to impact me through the nations. Through eleven different countries and cultures, God has opened my eyes to more of himself than what I ever thought possible. I have seen and experienced his love in the eyes of hundreds of orphans, widows, and homeless people around the world. I have come to know his healing power in my life and the lives of countless others. This love, magnificent and unchanging, has transformed me." - Aaron Bruner, September 2007 / August 2009 World Race "For those who may see The World Race as just another missions trip, I would have to disagree. It's a classroom where the gifts God gives people and the realities of how those gifts were intended to shape and shake the world come together, completely changing a life, spanning the globe through relationship after relationship." - Brian Alonzo, July 2008 World Race "I had lived most of my life controlled by fear, specifically fear of rejection. Through the support, unity, and love of my team God was able to free me from a life of fear. God showed me how to walk in freedom during the Race. I had always know God's love and power but I had never truly let it reign in my life." - Shannon Higgins, January 2009 World Race "While on the World Race, God put a love inside of me that I didn't even know existed. I loved on the rich, poor, elderly, sick, orphans, prostitutes, homeless, university students, host families and my own community. What impacted me the most was living in community and fellowship with people of different nations, culture, and skin color, and coming together while worshiping and praising the same God. It is then that you experience the power of God uniting the nations together in His name and for His glory. I have never experienced something so beautiful." - Stephanie Tyrna, January 2009 World Race Testimonies from Adults"While the debate over short-term missions is far from over, I find that AIM does it better than most. They put supporting local ministries at the top of their agenda. They make it a priority to support the work of those who will still be there when they pack up and leave." - Dan Roth |
