Hurricane Dolly Hits; AIM Missionaries Persevere
7/23/2008
A report from Matamoros, Mexico on the hurricane that has hit the coast along the Texas-Mexico border:
"Hurricane Dolly has made landfall but we are doing fine. We have a generator here at The Gateway that is keeping necessities going. The latest news we have is that the hurricane is breaking up.
"Please continue to pray for us and our neighbors. We are looking at this storm as an opportunity for ministry and not a handicap. Praise God there is a group of missionaries here this week to help with the cleanup."

A Change of Plans: The impact of Africa
7/23/2008
This year has changed my life forever. I almost learned more from these women and children than I did in my four years of college. Each day their knowledge expands because they live by necessity. All they can hope for is enough food for the next day.
I went to help the kids and encourage the ladies, but in the end I think they taught me more than I taught them. As the year ended and it was time to leave, my heart was broken. How could I say goodbye to these people that have become like my family?

7/8/2008
Even though during the trip I fully enjoyed holding the babies, meeting with the gogos and talking to some of the older kids, I was still unsure as to why I had actually returned to Swazi. By the end of the trip the Lord revealed why...

On Not Wanting to Be a Missionary
7/3/2008
Why am I going to Africa for nine months to be a missionary? It all started a few years ago when I said "I don’t want to be a missionary, I will never be a missionary." I was going to have a normal life, with a mission trip here or there. But my life was not going to be as a missionary.

The January 2008 squad has been all over southern Africa working with orphans, showing the Jesus Film to crowds of people and watching many get saved and even healed.
July 1 is the deadline to apply for the last World Race squad of 2008.
