Where would
you rather be?
Driving
your dream car on your way home from a great job going to a
beautiful house --while trying to avoid God.
Or,
yielding to the call to missions and being surrounded by the peace
that passes all understanding -- even if it means living a life of
sacrifice.
Cars and jobs
and houses aren't evil. And, God doesn't call everyone to be
a missionary in some far-off land. But, He does call many. Maybe
even you.
All we ask is
that you seek the Lord. Learn from Him if He wants you to
follow Him in missions. We believe He will make it clear to you.
Then, all you have to do is obey.
(You're right. That's not always easy, is it?)
It sounds crazy to a lost
generation, but following God leads to peace. Seeking
personal, selfish pleasure is the most certain path to an
unfulfilled, wasted life. If God says to go,
becoming a First Year Missionary can help you go for greatness
during that first mission year of becoming a missionary.
Don't settle for safety,
boredom ... and, if the call to follow the Lord is ignored, regret.
Check out AIM's
First Year Missionary program because
God made you for a higher purpose than just to
get a degree, a house and a Honda.
What is a First Year Missionary (FYM)?
A First Year Missionary (FYM) is a college-aged Christian, age 18-24, who devotes a school year (with a summer option) learning how to become a more effective disciple of Christ through missions. This program is not an academic study, but a practical discipleship and missions program. First Year Missionaries are immersed in both local culture and the missionary lifestyle as you serve Jesus Christ in countries in South Africa, Nicaragua, or Peru.
