Job Description:
A ministry coordinator serves as the point person on a trip, directing both the spiritual and the logistical aspects of the trip.  The ministry coordinator serves in one location or with one people group for a summer discipling Project Facilitators (PF) who are assisting you on the projects.  Check out details of a PF at: http://www.adventures.org/a/internships/.

Requirements:
We have found that married couples who are committed to missions, has a servant-hood attitude and investing in discipling are the best candidates for this position. One of the couples must be 23 years of age or older. A Ministry Coordinator must model servant leadership; leading with authority while at the same time serving the needs of the group. They must be able to communicate well with others, plan ahead and be good problem-solvers. They must be committed to upholding the standards of an AIM project, with grace toward others and integrity. Accepted applicants must attend a Leader Training prior.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Recruiting your own team of Prayer Warriors for the entire summer
  • Assisting in the recruiting of the PF team
  • Ensuring the Spiritual wellbeing of your PF’s
  • Ensuring the Physical wellbeing of your PF’s
  • Communicating on a daily basis with your setup person/s
  • Compiling the Ministry Chart for each week allocating leadership roles
  • Communicating with Worship leaders for each week and ensuring that they are picked up at the airport and oriented smoothly.
  • Handling the weekly budget and reconciling the funds weekly back to Gainesville.  (or assign this to an assigned Finance Manager)
  • Ensuring a weekly rotation of “days off” for the PF’s
  • Arranging debrief meetings, R&R activities, and weekly worship times.
  • Pre-trip communication with youth pastors/ group leaders.
  • Overseeing the transportation arrangements of the PF’s
  • Guard AIM’s integrity in the community by monitoring the group’s actions.
  • Proactively adjusting ministry as needs change in the field.

Required Training:

In order to become a Leader there is a certification process that must be completed. A Leader must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Previous participation on an AIM project
  • Attend Leader Training - After the Leadership Development Team gets to know you, reviews your application and references you may be extended an invitation to continue the application process. This training will help you learn more about the heartbeat of AIM and how to be an effective leader with combining classroom and hands-on training on small group facilitating, conflict resolution, teaching AIM’s five objectives, listening prayer and more.
  • Finish required reading - When God Speaks by Henry & Richard Blackaby. This is to be completed prior to attending Project Leader Training.
  • Coached Mission-This is for additional training with an experienced instructor guiding and encouraging you along the way.
  • Complete Solo Mission - Your first solo project; lead a mission trip on your own.
**After you are coached and solo missions are evaluated you will be certified as a Project Leader.

Project Leader Training Dates:

We have several leader training’s and you are welcome to come to any of these, however, the PF’s will be required to attend the May 20-23 leader training and we would like all Ministry Coordinators to be at that training in order to grow as a team before heading out on the field together.

  • November 11 - 14th, 2010
  • February 17 - 20th, 2011
  • April 7 - 10th, 2011
  • May 19 - 22nd, 2011
*All Project Leader Trainings take place in Gainesville, GA. Dates subject to change.
